MØY ATELIER: JAPANESE CRAFT, NORDIC DESIGN
POPPING UP AT STUDIO 20 JULY - 7 AUGUST
Independent eyewear brand MØY ATELIER is joining us at Studio for the ultimate summer pop up. MØY’s sunglasses are inspired by retro styles and crafted by Japanese artisans using sustainable, eco-friendly materials.
MØY was launched by Norwegian creative director, writer and model Betty Bachz in 2017 to answer what she saw as the homogenized, masculine style offered by established luxury brands – as well as a complete lack of sustainability.
With a Norwegian design team working alongside Betty, the sunglasses are grounded in Nordic style, combined with a playful 1970s spirit. Further inspirations come from Betty’s interest in the role and reputation of femme fatales throughout history, the later days of the golden age of cinema, and ancient Egyptian artistry.
Each pair of the glasses are hand-crafted by artisans in Japan using sustainable, eco friendly materials – the frames are made with 100% recyclable and biodegradable bio-acetate while the lenses use bio-nylon.
Drop by to check out the styles at Studio anytime throughout the pop up, and take a look at just some of the styles you’ll find on offer here – modelled by Betty herself.
